About the Author:
Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya was born in Bally, Howrah district. He graduated from Peary Mohan College under Calcutta University, and took up teaching as a profession. But after a few years he left this profession and entered the corporate world and started living in Bangalore. During that time he began his career as an art curator. After returning to Calcutta, he concentrated working more in the field of art and literature and formed Art Alinda Archive, a vintage graphics collection of Bengal. He curated exhibitions of art works of renowned artists such as Jamini Roy, Ramendranath Chakraborty, Soumitra Chattopadhyay, Haren Das, Jogen Chowdhury, Lalu Prasad Saw and others. Apart from writing and curating exhibitions, he also created documentaries on notable artists – Manu Parekh, Himmat Shah and Rabin Mondal.
