ABOUT THE EXHIBITION
Organised by the Society of Contemporary Artists to celebrate the 89th birth anniversary of Ganesh Pyne (1937–2013), this special exhibition features a unique selection of works from private collections, providing audiences with a rare opportunity to engage with one of India’s most renowned modern artists. Curated by Jyotirmoy Bhattacharya, the exhibition showcases Pyne's distinctive visual language, which reflects an evocative blend of memory, mythology, dreams, and introspection, captured through his masterful use of tempera and a captivating palette of luminous darkness.
In addition to showcasing the artworks, the exhibition pays tribute to Pyne's enduring legacy through a series of accompanying events. These include a musical presentation on the opening day and a discussion titled “Ganesh Pyne Beyond the Frame,” featuring distinguished scholars, artists, and associates who will reflect on the artist's life, work, and influence.
