K. S. Radhakrishnan was born in 1956 and grew up in Kottayam. He later joined Kala Bhavana at Visva Bharati University in Santiniketan. He was awarded a national scholarship from the Government of India and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Santiniketan.
Radhakrishnan gained recognition for his work when he won the award for Best Sculpture at the annual exhibition of the Birla Academy of Art and Culture in Calcutta. He also received a research grant from the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi to work at Garhi Studios. Throughout his career, he has exhibited his work extensively, with several of his sculptures installed around the world, including two open-air sculptures in Bikaner, Rajasthan, and a sculpture at India House in London.
He has worked at Studio Obsonvile in France and participated in the Triennale organized by the Lalit Kala Akademi in New Delhi. In 1983, Radhakrishnan held a solo exhibition at the Jehangir Art Gallery in Mumbai. Over the years, he has experimented with various sculpting mediums, creating works in molten bronze, beeswax, and plaster of Paris. For him, the tactile and physical process of working with these materials is an essential part of the creative experience.
